Luke's Feedback

1. Overall Experience

My experience with Argentium Silver has been excellent. The metal feels very refined and clean while working. The final finish is noticeably brighter and more premium compared to traditional sterling silver, which really enhances the overall look of the jewellery piece.

2. Ease of Working

I found Argentium easier to work with in many ways. It is more forgiving during heating and soldering, and it significantly reduces firestain. This makes the workflow smoother and reduces the amount of finishing work required.

3. Difference from Traditional Sterling Silver

There are several clear differences I noticed:

- Much better resistance to firestain

- Brighter and cleaner finish with less polishing

- Higher resistance to tarnish

- Smoother feel during forming and finishing

Additionally, one of the biggest advantages is the ability to fuse Argentium Silver. This is something not easily achievable with traditional sterling. Fusing allows joining metal without solder, which opens more possibilities for clean and seamless designs.

4. Future Use

Yes, I would definitely like to continue working with Argentium Silver. I am especially interested in creating bracelets, rings, and more intricate handmade designs where clean joins and high-quality finish are important. I would also like to explore more fusing techniques in future pieces.

5. Biggest Surprise

What surprised me the most was how clean the metal remains even after heating. The reduced firestain, bright finish, and the possibility of fusing make it very different from traditional sterling silver and very useful for handcrafted jewellery.

Additional Thoughts

From a craftsman’s perspective, Argentium Silver improves both efficiency and final quality. Less polishing, cleaner joins, and better tarnish resistance make it a very practical and premium material for jewellery making.
